PMC took action against 2.22 Lakh illegal banners and posters in a year – Punekar News
Pune, 20th August 2022: In the past year, the Sky Signs Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken action against 2.22 lakh of illegal billboards, fabric signs and banners.
This includes 149 display panels, 50,120 panels, 29,015 fabric panels, 10,251 flags, 60,320 posters, 26,015 booths and 16,925 other small and large panels. A fine of Rs 7.15 lakh was levied and six cases were registered for the removal of billboards, the department said.
An organization has been appointed by the municipality to take eviction action on unauthorized billboards, banners, fabric signs, murals and flags. Action against unauthorized billboards will continue. In addition, criminal charges will be filed under the Damage to Property Act against those who install billboards, murals and fabric signs in public places.
It is proposed to take legal action against the company/business about which the advertisement is placed if unauthorized billboards are installed. Action will also be taken against the flex printing business for hanging wall posters, fabric signs without a license.
